Why we test every batch

Testing is the most expensive thing we do that a customer cannot taste. Here is why we do it anyway, and how to read the result.

Third-party testing costs money per batch, and the smaller your batches the worse that maths gets. Testing every batch is therefore something a small producer has an obvious incentive to skip, or to do once and reuse the paperwork.

We do it every time, because the alternative is asking you to take our word for it.

What a COA actually covers

The part everyone looks at is potency: how much of each cannabinoid the lab measured. The part that matters more is the safety panel — pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, and microbial contamination.

A certificate that only shows potency is not telling you the important half.

Label claim versus measured result

The number on the package is the formulation target. The number on the certificate is what the laboratory measured in that specific batch. They will not match exactly, and a small difference is normal and expected in any real manufacturing process.

On this site the product page shows the label claim and the lab results page shows the measured figure, so you can see both.

When we do not have the document

Our lab results library lists everything, including products where we do not currently hold a certificate to publish. Those rows say 'on request' rather than showing nothing, and you can ask us for the document for the batch you actually bought.
